Ceramic Heating Elements
Using our team’s experience in the field and with manufacturers, ISP carries only the highest quality ceramic heating elements for pre-heating and post-weld treatment. We have selected our elements based on their ease of use, product lifetime, and quality of heat distribution.
For preheating, a flexible insulated preheater with integral magnets can be used which is similar to the ceramic heater but with three integrated magnets and a superwool insulation mat encased in stainless steel mesh and a stainless steel backing attached. The preheater can be used on both a flat or curved surface and is attached to the pipe by three built in limpet magnets The these three powerful magnets make a strong connection between the ceramic heater and the pipe quickly and with ease. These FIP’S are used to preheat up to a temperature of 250 Degrees C.

Flexible Insulated Preheaters (FIP)
For preheating, a flexible insulated preheater is used which is identical to the ceramic heater but with a superwool insulation mat encased in stainless steel mesh and a stainless steel backing attached. The preheater can be used on both a flat or curved surface and is attached to the pipe by a magnet. The stainless steel backing allows the magnet to make a strong connection between the ceramic heater and the pipe quickly and with ease. These FIP’S are used to preheat up to a temperature of 250 Degrees C.
ISP offers standard preheaters at 80 volt CP4 Flexible Insulated Preheaters, however alternative voltage and size preheaters are available upon request. The preheater can also be made from tank track beads in the same design.

80V ceramic pad heater elements provide 3.6kW of heating power for pre and post weld heat treatments. ISP’s ceramic pad heater elements are manufactured from high grade nickel chrome (NiCr) 80/20 19 stranded wire. They are insulated with durable ceramic interlocking beads made of sintered alumina oxide. Each ceramic heater has a nickel 212 welded coil tail which enables the technician safe and easy access to the heater when in use. A white marker bead denotes the start of the cold tail. A twistlock connector complete with insulated sleeve is attached to the end of each tail to enable the ceramic heater to be connected to the 3 way splitter..
